I have had a GM truck since 88. This is by far the finest truck i have owned. the Duramax/Allison combo has performed flawlessly. it has delivered power and dependability that to this day still satisfies my decision to forgoe the LT 5.3 gasser and go with the LS diesel. I travel for my job and use this as a sales vehicle. No regrets. I put 285s on and the truck looks great!

  • Duramax Allison Awesome - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

Mine is a 2002, with 33,000 miles. The Duramax Diesel Allison trans combination is worth the money, even for standard driving. I two 2 small trailers, under 3000 lbs, and the mileage stays 15 mpg at 70 mph. The brakes are phenominal. My last truck was a Dodge Ram, this is far superior.

This is the finest vehicle I have ever driven. It is powerful, roomy, and extremely comfortable. Even in its brand new state, the Duramax engine gave me 16.2 mpg on a recent trip.

  • Duramax Crew Cab - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

This truck has met or exceeded my expectations. When pulling a car hauler loaded with ATVs it is easy to forget that the trailer is back their. The tail does not wag the dog. The crew cab provides plenty of room for four adults on long drives. So far the best fuel mileage without a trailer is 18 mpg. I have heard it gets better after engine break in has occurred. The allison transmission lives up to the rave reviews. It shifts smoothly in standard and tow mode. I like the way it down shifts in the tow mode. I have had no problems with the truck.

  • Nothing Beats a Duramax/ Allison Trans. - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

I brought my 2500HD Duramax and a travel trailer the same day. I hooked my travel trailer to my truck and could not believe the torque it had. Coming home I had to come up several tall long hills and the speed stayed constant. The fuel mileage is not as good as thought it should be but I am told that it will get better with more miles on it. I could not be happier with my Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax.

  • Longest Ive owned a vehicle - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

This is the 3rd Chevy truck Ive owned and by far the best!! i opted for the Duramax/Allison 4x4. i have pulled trailers and used as a vacation vehicle loaded to the gills. Great performance and comfort. I did install a ARE intake and a Magnaflow 5" stainless turbo back. I am receiving about 23 mpg @ 75mph a/c on.. can you imagine Akron,Oh to Cooperstown NY on 3/4 tank of fuel. Probably drive this till anique plates are installed. Cant miss. (Traded LT for LS model for diesel option. NO Regrets. Truck is almost 7 years old and i have not even replaced a single light bulb anywhere.

  • LLY ENGINE IN MY SILVERADO GIVES EXTREME - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
    By -

MY SILVERADO HAS THE NEW LLY ENGINE THAT GM BEGAN INSTALLING IN JANUARY 2004. IT TRULY IS AN AWESOME VEHICLE TO SAY THE LEAST. I PULL A 32 FOOT SUNNYBROOK 2004 5TH WHEEL LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING BEING TOWED WHEN THE TRUCK IS PUT TO THE TEST. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO STRAIN WHEN TOWING THIS RATHER 10-15000 LOADED RV. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS TRUCK AND RECOMMEND IT TO ALL THAT IS INVOLVED WITH TOWING RVS ESPECIALLY. I HAD LINE-X SPRAYED INTO THE BED OF THE TRUCK TO PROTECT THE BED AND IT ALSO MAKES THE TRUCK LOOK EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE. THE GAS MILEAGE IS ABOUT 14-15 WHICH IS REALLY GOOD AS WELL.
